One item returned. A single card lookup costs 1 credit; a page of 50 search results costs 50. The cost of a call is the size of its answer, so set per_page to what you actually need. Credits reset daily at midnight UTC.

What happens when I run out of credits?

Requests return 429 with a rate_limited error code until the reset at midnight UTC. Nothing is charged for going over and nothing is cut off beyond that day.

Do I need a card to start?

No. The Free tier needs an account and a verified email, nothing else. Once the email is verified you create a key from the dashboard and can make your first request.

Can I use the Free tier commercially?

No — Free is for personal projects, prototypes and learning. Every paid plan includes commercial use. If you are shipping something people pay for, you want Pro.

Why are German and Spanish cards priced in euros?

Because that is where they sell. TCGplayer does not carry German or Spanish product, so those cards have no dollar price; their pricing comes from Cardmarket in EUR. English and Japanese cards carry both.

Can I change or cancel a plan?

Any time, from the dashboard. An upgrade takes effect immediately and is prorated, so you pay only the difference for the rest of the period; a cancellation keeps access until the end of the period you have paid for.

Does tracking my collection need a plan?

No. Every account tracks a collection for free, up to 500 cards, with value over time and CSV import and export. Collector ($5.99 a month, on the Collectors tab) lifts the limits. The plans in this tab are for the API.
